Kaitlyn Heaney was born in Kamloops 1993. She has spent almost her entire life there save for the one year moved to the Yukon, where a great deal of family relations live in 2011 to 2012. From 2012 – 2016 Kaitlyn chose to work fulltime job to save money for school. In the winter of 2016, she enrolled at Thompson River’s university. There she furthered her skills in drawing and learnt how to paint along the way. She has spent her entire life always drawing, though she did not start putting together large compositions until university. There she would start her odd assortment of creatures ranging from doodles to larger scale compositions. In her paintings she prefers creating landscapes after compiling visual research and sketches of favourable environments. She also seems to really enjoy printmaking, especially intaglio prints, even though it is not her focus. As of now, she continues to work on her bodies of work.
